Billboard Artist Ashley Paul Expands Her Sound as “I Just Had to Fall” Prepares to Hit Radio Nationwide

Billboard recording artist Ashley Paul is widening the scope of her career with “I Just Had to Fall,” a deeply personal release that introduces a sophisticated new dimension to the singer-songwriter’s evolving sound.
Released via Dauman/Virgin, “I Just Had to Fall” moves Paul beyond the Dance/Pop/EDM space where she has built an international following and places greater focus on her voice, storytelling and ability to connect with a song on an emotional level.
Now, the record is preparing for its next major push, with “I Just Had to Fall” soon set to hit radio nationwide, bringing Paul’s new sound to listeners across the country. A separate Smooth Jazz mix is also scheduled to roll out to radio, creating another avenue for the single as Paul expands into Smooth Jazz and Adult Contemporary formats.
The transition marks an important evolution for an artist whose catalog has already generated chart recognition, international airplay and a growing streaming audience.
Rather than leaving her dance and pop roots behind, Paul is building on them.
Her next body of work will further explore the intersection of contemporary songwriting, jazz influences and classic vocal performance. She is currently collaborating with acclaimed Philadelphia production duo Bizkit and Butta, the four-time Grammy-nominated and Soul Train Award-winning team whose credits include work on John Legend’s Billboard No. 1 hit “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).”
The collaboration is expected to play an important role in shaping Paul’s developing Adult Contemporary and jazz-influenced catalog.
Another major piece of that evolution is the Ashley Paul Trio, a new recording and live-performance project created to showcase Paul in a more intimate musical setting.
The trio will blend original material with interpretations of timeless standards, including “Fever” and “Dream a Little Dream of Me.” Upcoming recordings are expected to be released across major streaming platforms, offering audiences a different perspective on Paul as both a vocalist and live entertainer.
That vision will come to life in New York City on December 29 at 54 Below, where Paul will present “Hearts Up After Dark.”
The intimate show will bring together multiple sides of her career, pairing songs that helped establish her as a recording artist with classic material and music from her emerging sound. The evening is expected to include “Bingo Baby,” “Hearts Up,” “Fever,” “Dream a Little Dream of Me” and additional selections from her catalog.
Designed around music and storytelling, “Hearts Up After Dark” will place Paul in a sophisticated live environment where Pop, Jazz, Adult Contemporary and timeless standards can exist within the same performance.
The expansion arrives after a run of releases that has steadily increased Paul’s presence in the independent and international music markets. Songs including “Bingo Baby,” “Hearts Up,” “When Boys Cry,” “Body Language,” “Finding Rhythm” and “Ribbons” have helped build her profile across Dance, Pop and radio while generating more than one million streams.
