Tickets On Sale for Palm Beach Symphony’s Production of Sleeping Beauty and the Orchestra, part of the Dale A. McNulty Children’s Concert Series

True love’s kiss will awaken a new generation of classical music lovers during Palm Beach Symphony’s original production of Sleeping Beauty and the Orchestra, featuring the music of composer Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky. The latest performance in the Dale A. McNulty Children's Concert Series will be conducted by Music Director Gerard Schwarz and narrated by his wife, Jody Schwarz, who also wrote the script.

The magical musical fairytale will be brought to life through enchanting illustrations by South Florida-based artist and certified art educator Michelle Sherman, a Dreyfoos School of the Arts alumna. Follow Princess Beauty Hamilton, a young girl whose deep love for music leads her to a royal orchestra audition and into a dramatic curse cast by a jealous rival. As the tale unfolds, the orchestra brings her journey to life through enchanting excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s most beloved works, from the sparkling Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to the thrilling Russian Dance to the lyrical Violin Concerto, and the sweeping drama of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. Blending storytelling, live orchestral performance and vivid visuals, the concert invites children into a world where music becomes magic, courage triumphs over fear and a single beautiful waltz has the power to break even the darkest of spells, awakening a sleeping princess and restoring harmony to the kingdom.

Open to the public, the Family Concert is on Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. at Duncan Theatre on the Palm Beach State College campus, 4200 S. Congress Ave. in Lake Worth. Tickets start at $10 for students and $20 for adults. Exclusive VIP packages are available. ABOUT MICHELLE SHERMAN

Michelle Sherman is a South Florida–based artist and certified art educator. She studied Fine Art at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and participated in the summer program at School of Visual Arts. She is an alumna of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts and holds a master’s degree in art education from University of Florida. With more than 15 years of teaching experience, Sherman has dedicated her career to helping students develop confidence and creativity through art. In 2023, she founded I Heard You Can Draw, an art studio in Boca Raton focused on teaching students to excel in drawing and painting. Alongside her teaching and studio practice, Sherman is the author and illustrator of three children’s books, which encourage young artists to explore their creativity and discover their unique artistic voice. Her watercolor series Window into Boca Raton (2023) was exhibited at the Spanish River Library and featured in Boca Magazine online. Her self-portrait drawing was selected for the juried exhibit, Mirror, Mirror in the Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach (2025). In her current works, Sherman turns inward — painting the interior body as a metaphor for thought and feeling.

ABOUT THE DALE A. MCNULTY CHILDREN’S CONCERT SERIES

Each fall, Palm Beach Symphony performs the Dale A. McNulty Children’s Concert Series at various venues across Palm Beach County to reach as many students and their families as possible. Performances are held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center and Duncan Theatre. Three performances are school field trips and one is a family show. The field trips are targeted towards Title I Schools and students from low-income households, all of which have high minority populations, but of course students from any school are welcome and encouraged to attend. Teachers are provided with detailed grade-specific curriculum guides with lessons plans. All Dale A. McNulty Children’s Concert Series productions meet numerous educational standards set forth by the State of Florida.
