Dr. Raymond Nagem Announces Five Upcoming Performances Across the US
DR. RAYMOND NAGEM ANNOUNCES FIVE UPCOMING PERFORMANCES ACROSS THE U.S.
Program Features the Complete Organ Works of Maurice Duruflé
NEW YORK, NY - Dr. Raymond Nagem, acclaimed performer and musical director, is excited
to announce a series of five performances of Duruflé’s complete works for organ, spanning from
February to June 2026.
Renowned for his exacting standards, Maurice Duruflé left behind only a handful of works, each
a finely honed masterpiece. Ray Nagem illuminates these compositions with profound
sensitivity, bringing their intricate beauty to life. Highlights of the tour include Nagem’s
participation in The Brick Presbyterian Church’s Worship & Arts Series on April 21st, which
will additionally feature Duruflé’s only piece of chamber music: the rarely performed Prélude,
Récitatif, et Variations, Op. 3, for flute, viola, and piano. This concert will feature Melissa
Brassard, Wilson Family Organ Intern at Brick Church, on organ and piano, Bart Feller on flute,
and Kal Sugatski on viola.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Raymond Nagem is Minister of Music at The Brick Presbyterian Church in New York
City, and a member of the organ faculty at Manhattan School of Music. He completed his
D.M.A. at The Juilliard School in 2016, where he was a student of Paul Jacobs.
A native of Medford, Mass., Dr. Nagem attended the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School
and began organ lessons there with John Dunn. He earned his B.A. from Yale University in 2009,
studying the organ with Thomas Murray, and his M.A. in 2011 from Juilliard. He has performed
with many of New York’s leading orchestras and choirs, including The Juilliard Orchestra,
Trinity Baroque Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Orchestra NOW, Experiential Orchestra,
and Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, Musica Sacra, and The Dessoff Choirs.
Prior to his appointment at Brick, he served for eleven years at the Cathedral of St. John
the Divine in New York City, where he was Associate Director of Music and Organist. His album
Divine Splendor, recorded on the Great Organ of St. John the Divine, is available on the Pro
Organo label. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in spring of 2020, Dr. Nagem began a
weekly online recital series from the cathedral, “Tuesdays at 6,” featuring a diverse range of
music spanning the entire organ repertoire. In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling, and
crossword puzzles.
