His first philharmonic subscription concert took place in September as part of a whole season ranging with repertoire that stands under the motto of "ZeitSpiele / Playing with Temporal Concepts – inspiring musical interlocutions between past and present. The concept transcends the boundaries of the ordinary, going far beyond merely performing new works loosely associated with “classics” – instead, original works by great masters are adapted: contemporary composers have been commissioned to create new works to be interpolated into a classical work instead of one of the original movements." A key feature are Wellber’s pre-concert talks where he personally explores the evening’s works, fostering dialogue and deepening the audience’s connection to the music—an essential part of the "ZeitSpiele" experience. More info here.
