CINCINNATI, OH (August 28, 2025)— The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops have announced updates to the upcoming 2025-26 season. Six special events will be added to the line-up. These additional concerts feature child-oriented music, sensory friendly themes and creative collaboration performances. The added concerts include two Lollipops Family Concerts, Access to Music, two CSO Proof Concerts and a Pops special: The Music of Studio Ghibli.
Happening in November and February, the Lollipops Family Concerts are designed to engage children, ages or abilities of two to nine years old. The first Lollipops concert of the season, “Let’s Dance,” will feature dances and music from around the world. On November 15, there will be two performances for “Let’s Dance,” including one at 10:30 a.m. and a sensory-friendly concert at 2 p.m. In addition, there will be a Family Fun Zone before the concerts with crafts and activities. The second Lollipops concert, “Peter and the Wolf” will be a musical adventure as the tale of Peter and the Wolf comes to life on stage on February 7 at 10:30 a.m. Through a family-friendly format, these concerts are the perfect introduction to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for young listeners.
February 1 at 2 p.m. is the CSO’s “Access to Music” concert. This performance will include sensoryfriendly elements, and focus on encouraging people of all abilities to explore how sound shapes emotions, thoughts and interactions, as well as inspire people all ages to connect with music in their own unique way.
A CSO Proof concert offers a fresh collaboration with artists who each craft a theme that connects music and listener with new dimensions of orchestral music and challenges the constructs of a traditional performance experience. This season, there will be two CSO Proof concerts. The first is Día de Los Muertos. It will be a celebration of life on October 30 at 8 p.m. featuring Latin American music to honor the Day of the Dead with a glowing altar from local artist, Rebecca Soto. The theme of the second CSO Proof of the upcoming season will be announced at the Día de Los Muertos performance, but calendars can be marked for March 26 at 8 p.m.
Lastly, the Pops are adding a one-night only special concert this season: The Music of Studio Ghibli. This unique performance will feature music from award-winning animation films by the world of Studio Ghibli. The Pops will perform popular symphonic masterpieces from the films Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro on April 14.
