AT 54 BELOW ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 6
August 13, 2025, New York, NY — Jessica Vosk (Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen, Wicked, and more; multiple appearances at Carnegie Hall) will headline the annual New York Pops Underground cabaret performance on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 54 Below with an intimate and eclectic evening of songs including theatrical moments and pop elements, highlighting the music of Hell’s Kitchen, Wicked, Waitress, Chappell Roan, ABBA, Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley, and more. Jessica previously appeared with The New York Pops for its annual holiday concert tradition in December 2024.
The evening begins with a champagne reception at 5:30pm followed by the event program and performance at 6:30pm, accompanied by a dinner with wine pairings. New York Pops Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke hosts the evening.
The PopsEd alumni ensemble, which features young musicians who have previously participated in the orchestra’s Kids on Stage program, will also perform as part of the evening. Kids on Stage is a youth mentorship program that provides students from all five boroughs access to the professional performance process including a comprehensive rehearsal period, and performance with the orchestra on the Carnegie Hall stage.
Proceeds from The New York Pops Underground cabaret fundraiser support the orchestra’s PopsEd programs, which provide music education, arts access, and performance opportunities for New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds. Since 1991, PopsEd has impacted over 100,000 New York City students.

Payton, and Ephraim Sykes.

About the Artists
Jessica Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress known for electrifying roles on musical theater and concert stages. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in November 2021 in a sold-out solo show titled My Golden Age and returned in 2022 to headline Get Happy: A Judy Garland Centennial Celebration. Jessica’s 2024-2025 season highlights included creating the fan-favorite role of Lute in the animated musical series Hazbin Hotel, creating the role of Cee Cee in the international premiere of the musical adaptation of Beaches, as well as returning to The Muny as Jenna in Waitress. She returned to San Francisco Symphony at Stern Grove Festival to celebrate the Fourth of July, debuted at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center with No Name Pops and her program California Dreamin’ –Songs of the Laurel Canyon, and she celebrated the holidays with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center and The New York Pops in her return to Carnegie Hall. Jessica also hosts Carnegie Hall’s new podcast If This Hall Could Talk. In 2024, Jessica released SLEIGH a full-length extension of her 2020 holiday EP A Very CoCo Christmas. Vosk most recently graced the Broadway stage as Jersey in Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen, earning critical acclaim for her dynamic performances.
Best known for her star turn as Elphaba in the musical Wicked, Vosk’s recent theatrical highlights include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Lincoln Center; The Muny); Chess (The Muny); Sarah Silverman’s The Bedwetter (The Atlantic Theater Company); Becoming Nancy (Alliance Theatre in Atlanta); and becoming the first singer to star onstage with the New York City Ballet. Other Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof, Finding Neverland, and The Bridges of Madison County.
Additional credits include San Francisco Symphony’s GRAMMY-nominated production of West Side Story and PBS’s Great Performances. Her solo albums Wild and Free (2018) and A Very Coco Christmas (2020) both debuted on the Billboard and iTunes charts and are available to stream on all platforms. Vosk had an unconventional journey to Broadway, beginning her career on Wall Street before taking the leap of faith to pursue her dreams on stage. Her one-of-a-kind story has been profiled on ABC’s 20/20 and NBC Nightly News.
Steven Reineke is one of North America's leading conductors of popular music and is in his second decade as Music Director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. He is the Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Principal Pops Conductor of the Houston Symphony and Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Reineke is a frequent guest conductor and can be seen on the podium with the Chicago, Philadelphia, and Detroit Symphony Orchestras.
On stage, Mr. Reineke creates and collaborates with a range of leading artists from the worlds of hip-hop, R & B, Broadway, television and rock including: Killer Mike, Maxwell, Common, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Ne-Yo, Bob Weir, Trey Anastasio, Barry Manilow, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Rector, Cody Fry, Sutton Foster, Amos Lee, Dispatch, Jason Mraz, and Ben Folds, amongst others. In 2024 he led the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) on PBS's Next at the Kennedy Center featuring Ben Folds DeClassified with Jacob Collier, Laufey and dodie. He was previously seen with the NSO on PBS on Great Performances with hip-hop legend Nas performing his seminal album "Illmatic." Reineke is the conductor on "Ben Folds Live with The National Symphony Orchestra and William Shatner's "So Fragile, So Blue" with The National Symphony Orchestra.
As the creator of hundreds of orchestral arrangements, Reineke’s work is performed worldwide and can be heard on numerous Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recordings. His symphonic works Celebration Fanfare, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and Casey at the Bat are performed frequently in North America, including performances by the New York Philharmonic and Los Angeles Philharmonic. His Sun Valley Festival Fanfare was used to commemorate the Sun Valley Summer Symphony’s pavilion, and his Festival Te Deum and Swan’s Island Sojourn were debuted by the Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops Orchestras. His numerous wind ensemble compositions are published by the C.L. Barnhouse Company and are performed by concert bands perennially.
A native of Ohio, Mr. Reineke is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio (2020 Alumnus Distinguished Achievement Medal), where he earned two bachelor of music degrees with honors in both trumpet performance and music composition. He currently resides in New York City with his husband Eric Gabbard.
Comprised of 78 musicians, The New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the United States, now in its 43rd season as the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City specializing in popular music. Led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, the orchestra performs an annual subscription series at Carnegie Hall, and is among the venue’s most presented ensembles. The New York Pops’ annual birthday gala is celebrated each spring, raising funds for the orchestra and its education programs. The orchestra performs annually in Queens, NY at Forest Hills Stadium, a 14,000-seat historic concert venue.
The New York Pops celebrates the diversity of popular music’s evolving songbook. Over the years, the orchestra has presented free concerts in city parks, community organizations, and senior centers; performed the National Anthem at sports venues; and toured throughout the world. Past media projects include the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC Television, a nationally syndicated radio series, and performances on PBS. The orchestra’s discography encompasses recordings of popular standards, theater and film scores, and music for the holidays.
The New York Pops was founded by Ruth and Skitch Henderson in 1983 with a mission to create greater public awareness and appreciation of America’s rich musical heritage through presentation of concerts and education programs of the highest quality.
