Finger Lakes Opera Presents Rigoletto

Rochester, NY – Finger Lakes Opera (FLO) will close its 2025 Summer Festival with two performances
of Giuseppe Verdi’s tragic opera, Rigoletto, a timeless masterpiece, known for its gripping story of love,
betrayal, and revenge, captivating audiences with moments of profound emotion and operatic brilliance. Set
in the decadent court of the Duke of Mantua, Rigoletto follows the dramatic tale of a tormented, hunchbacked
court jester who seeks vengeance after his innocent daughter, Gilda, falls prey to the Duke’s deceitful
charms.

“When I was thinking about what to ‘pair’ with The Anonymous Lover (presented this past Sunday), I
knew I wanted a tragedy,” FLO Artistic Director Stephanie Havey explains and continues, “And when
Rigoletto popped into my head it was perfect because I had two amazing singers, with Rochester ties, in mind
for the lead roles.”

Cast Stars Are:

? Joshua Conyers as Rigoletto: a Grammy-nominated baritone who has performed with orchestras and
opera companies all over the world and is currently a voice professor at the Eastman School of Music.
? Jazmine Saunders as Gilda: a Rochester native, Eastman School of Music graduate, and William
Warfield Scholarship recipient fresh off her May Metropolitan Opera debut.

? Christopher Bozeka as the Duke of Mantua: tenor who performs regularly with the Metropolitan

Opera and across stages nationwide.
