Back by popular demand pianist Sara Davis Buechner tours Japan and continues with a super busy Spring schedule

Sara Davis Buechner enjoyed an exhilarating winter tour of Japan, where she played a Tribute Recital to George Gershwin in Kyoto’s Alti Hall, and gave master classes in Nagoya, Hiroshima and Tokyo. In March she returned to Japan for more recitals including being featured in a program in Nagoya's Munetsugu Hall of rare impressionist works by American and French composers -- John Alden Carpenter, Vernon Duke, Dana Suesse, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Francis Poulenc. She has wanted to play Poulenc's "Les Soirées de Nazelles" for decades, and at long last did so in one of her favorite recital halls.  And in July Ms Buechner is slated to play a spectacular two-concert presentation of the 5 Piano Concertos by Camille Saint-Saens, with the Tokyo Sinfonia in Oji Hall.

To open the New Year she played Debussy’s Petite Suite for piano four-hands with Martha Argerich, as the finale of the opening recital of the ASU Bösendörfer & Yamaha International Piano Competition in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sara’s busy spring schedule includes a return engagement at the Newport Festival, and piano concertos with the orchestras of Edmonton, Las Vegas, and Syracuse. In April she’ll reprise her one-woman autobiographical theater show “Of Pigs and Pianos” (whose opening garnered rave reviews in the New York Times) at Carleton College in Minneapolis.
