The Concours musical International de Montréal Announces the 24 Competitors of Voice 2025

The Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) is proud to announce the names of the singers chosen to participate in the Voice 2025 edition. This 23rd edition of the CMIM brings together some of the most outstanding classical singers of the new generation. Under the expert eye of a prestigious jury, the 24
selected artists gather in Montreal from May 25 to June 6, 2025, for an exceptional experience and the chance to make their mark on the international scene.

This year, the CMIM once again received applications of superior quality from around the world, demonstrating the international stature of the competition.

Founded in 2001, the CMIM has established itself as a global reference in the world of international competitions. Rigorous artistic standards, excellent production values, and a warm welcome have all contributed to this enviable reputation.

The 24 competitors of the Voice 2025 edition were carefully selected from 348 applicants from 43 different countries, by the Preliminary Jury. This year's cohort includes young artists from 16 countries. 4 competitors are from Canada, including 2 from Québec.

VOICE 2025 INTERNATIONAL JURY
The International Jury of Voice 2025 is chaired by world-renowned Canadian soprano
Adrianne Pieczonka. The jury brings together prominent figures from the world of opera
and classical music, including performers and influential industry professionals: Harolyn
Blackwell, Iain Burnside, Étienne Dupuis, Anthony Freud, Susan Graham, Roberto Mauro,
and Christina Scheppelmann. The Jury will be responsible for evaluating competitors’
performances and selecting the laureates and prizewinners. The CMIM is pleased to offer
competitors the unique opportunity to perform before this prestigious panel.

PATRICK SUMMERS, GUEST CONDUCTOR
The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM), the official orchestra of the Concours
musical international de Montréal, will be led by renowned conductor Patrick Summers.
His passion and expertise in the operatic repertoire will allow him to guide and inspire the
semifinalists and finalists of Voice 2025.

VOICE 2025 COMPETITION ROUNDS

The First Round of Voice 2025 will take place at Salle Bourgie from May 25 to 29. All 24 competitors will perform two distinct programs: Aria and Art Song.

At the conclusion of the First Round, five singers will be invited to compete in the Art Song
Prize Final on May 31 at Salle Bourgie, providing audiences with a rich musical experience
with this intimate repertoire combining music and poetry.

Also at the end of the First Round, 10 competitors will advance to the Semifinal at Maison
symphonique on June 3 and 4. They will be joined by Orchestre symphonique de Montréal
(OSM), the official orchestra of CMIM, under the direction of Guest Conductor Patrick
Summers.

Voice 2025 competitors who are not selected for the Semifinal will be invited to participate
in CMIM On the Road, where they will have the opportunity to perform for other
audiences elsewhere in Québec.

The grand Final on June 6 brings the Voice 2025 edition to a close on a high note. Five
finalists will once again perform with the OSM, offering highly emotional moments as they
present some of the world’s most beautiful arias.

At the close of the competition, laureates and special prizewinners will share awards,
grants, and professional engagements worth over $160,000. These prizes will undoubtedly
pave the way for brilliant international careers.

ABOUT THE CMIM
The Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) enjoys an undeniable reputation
as one of the most prestigious and welcoming of international competitions. Exceptional
classical musicians of the new generation come from the four corners of the globe to
participate in the CMIM. Since its inception, nearly 5,000 young musicians from 90
countries, trained at the world’s most important music schools, have applied to the
