Music Director Lawrence Golan's and Pennsylvania's York Symphony Orchestra's latest recording, From Canvas to Concert Hall: Music inspired by Art, was released digitally today on Centaur Records. Featuring works by Saint-Saëns, Popp, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt, with music inspired by paintings from artists including Edouard Manet, El Greco, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, the CD was recorded during 2024 at the orchestra's home base, The Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York. The Orchestra performed the album's works live in concert on April 6, 2024, including the world premiere of American composer William Popp's The Galleries.
The physical CDs will be available January 3, 2025.
