Incline Village, NV - The Classical Tahoe Music Festival & Institute in North Lake Tahoe has named David Pratt as the new Executive Director. David began his role with the 13-year-old summer festival on September 23.

Pratt brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Classical Tahoe, having most recently served as CEO/Executive Director of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. During his time with the Austin Symphony, he achieved record breaking single ticket sales, launched new artistic initiatives, increased annual development revenue by more than 10%, and led transformational change throughout the organization.

“We are thrilled that David has joined the Classical Tahoe family,” said Marna Broida, Chair of the Classical Tahoe Board of Directors. “He brings tremendous energy, creativity, & experience from his years with film and music festivals on two continents. David will certainly provide Classical Tahoe with invaluable insights and fresh ideas in the coming seasons.”

“It’s such an honor and a privilege to step into the Executive Director’s role at Classical Tahoe (CT),” shared David Pratt. “I’ve been following the evolution of CT since its inception in 2012. I’m grateful to the team, board, supporters and the community for getting behind CT over the last 13 seasons. I see numerous opportunities to not only continue the great work that has been done to date but also how we can significantly increase our impact in the region. CT brings so much to Tahoe over the summer where both locals and visitors can experience the joy of live music with friends and family in one of the most beautiful settings in the world!”

Pratt has over 20 years of leadership and management experience across the performing arts and film industries in the United States and Australia.

Prior to his role with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Pratt served as the Executive Director of the Savannah Music Festival and the Chief Executive Officer of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Australia. He has also held executive positions with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra and Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus, and has held leadership positions with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Australian Festival of Chamber Music.
