Peter Boyer's 'Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue' Sweeps the US

June 20, 2024 | By Naturally Sharp Inc.

"From sea to shining sea..." The 50-states Rhapsody National Initiative featuring Peter Boyer's illuminating and American-themed inspired new work, "Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue", continues to sweep the country with performances featuring project creator, pianist Jeffrey Biegel. July 2024 is a particularly unique month featuring four performances: the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra (Jeremy Francisco conducting, TN premiere), the New England Music Camp Orchestra (Simon Gollo conducting, ME premiere), Endless Mountain Music Festival (Stephen Gunzenhauser conducting, PA premiere) and the Pacific Symphony (Carl St. Clair conducting, CA premiere). This covers the range from community orchestra, young musicians orchestra, professional summer festival orchestra and one of the most respected professional orchestras in the US. The design of the Rhapsody National Initiative brings together musicians from all walks of life, from our Nation's youth through professional musician. It also embodies the authentic American orchestra scene, with uplifting music symbolizing America since the time of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", celebrating its centennial this year.

Orchestras not yet part of the Rhapsody National Initiative still have the oportunity to join the project and  perform their state performance through the 2026-27 season in order to be listed in the historic National roster of orchestras. In this unprecedented model, there can be more than one orchestra in each state, rather than a single orchestra representing the entire state.
