Pitchers and catchers report to spring training on February 12th! In honor of imminent warmer weather, hot dogs and home runs, Sara Buechner is playing an all-American and most unusual piano recital this Sunday afternoon as part of the fourth annual Temple University Keyboard Festival.
Titled "The Popular American Piano,"
Concert features short works of popular style by such composers as Edward MacDowell, Scott Joplin, Zez Confrey, Joseph Lamb, Pauline Alpert, Dana Suesse, Rudolf Friml, Rube Bloom and others -- ending with a salute to George Gershwin on the 100th anniversary of the debut of his "Rhapsody in Blue."
I guarantee you, this is a special concert of red-white-&-blue goodies you won't hear easily, or at all, anywhere else. Come to the program live at Rock Hall of Temple University this Sunday at 3 p.m., or tune in to the livestream link below. O say can you hear! or should I say, Play Ball! and Play Piano!
