The Moab Music Festival is excited to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director Amy Weiser. Ms. Weiser brings over two decades of experience in community development and project management to her new position. With a special focus in public speaking and engagement, Ms. Weiser has helped create and implement a variety of community renewal and development plans in both Utah and Oregon.

Previously she served as a director and manager at the City of Moab, Business Resolutions Moab, and Phoenix Urban Renewal Agency. For five years, she served as the planning director for the city of Jacksonville, Oregon. Her responsibilities there included planning for the annual Britt Music & Arts Festival, the Pacific Northwest's premier outdoor summer performing arts festival. Ms. Weiser has overseen the creation, development and execution of major land and community expansion projects. Her extensive managerial experience includes procedural efficiency and economy, as well as implementation.

In addition to her professional experience, she brings a love and appreciation of music to her new role. Her paternal grandfather was a concert pianist and professor at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, who instilled an appreciation of music in her entire family. Ms. Weiser grew up playing piano, experimented with the oboe and is currently learning to play the guitar. It was her love for music that brought her to Moab’s KZMU Community Radio, where she DJ’d and served on the Board of Trustees.

Ms. Weiser also loves the outdoors, and can often be found hiking or paddle boarding in and around Moab. She assists regularly with weekly services at St. Francis Episcopal Church and the Moab Food Pantry, and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her daughter.

The Moab Music Festival’s 31st Season runs from August 21 to September 15, 2023, and includes 53 artists appearing in 23 performances in 13 outdoor and historic venues, including grotto, ranch, and float concerts, music hikes, and rafting trips.
