New York, NY (March 30, 2023) — Acclaimed early music ensemble TENET Vocal Artists, led by Artistic Director Jolle Greenleaf, concludes its 2022-23 season with Rejoice, Rejoice!, featuring music from 16th century England, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 7:00pm at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church (552 West End Avenue).
The program of Rejoice, Rejoice! magnifies TENET’s vocal artistry and celebrates beloved composers William Byrd (Laetentur coeli), William Mundy (Vox patris caelestis), John Sheppard (Gaude, gaude, gaude Maria; Spiritus Sanctus; and Beata nobis), Thomas Tallis (Nunc dimittis and Loquebantur variis linguis), and Robert White (Tota pulchra es and Magnificat).
Vocalists include soprano and Artistic Director Jolle Greenleaf, sopranos Madeline Healey and Rebecca Myers, mezzo-sopranos Sylvia Leith and Elisa Sutherland, countertenor Timothy Parsons, tenors Andrew Fuchs, Nathan Hodgson, and Jacob Perry, bass-baritones Paul Max Tipton and Charles Wesley Evans, and basses Steven Hrycelak, Enrico Lagasca, and Thomas McCargar. The concert will be filmed and available to view as a virtual concert from May 30, 2023 to August 30, 2023.
Artistic Director Jolle Greenleaf shares, “This exciting event brings TENET back to its vocal roots in a performance of splendid vocal repertoire from UK composers. Alternating between one-to-a-part and full ensemble singing, I am looking forward to sharing these gems with our audience – some known, many lesser known – as we bring our series to a close and look ahead to an exciting 15th celebration season.”
TENET presents Bach’s Magnificat and Easter Oratorio as the penultimate concert of its 22-23 season on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer.
