ZACHARY DEPUE APPOINTED CONCERTMASTER

OF NAPLES PHILHARMONIC

NAPLES, FL (March 13, 2023)— Artis—Naples, home of The Baker Museum and the Naples Philharmonic, is pleased to announce that after serving as acting concertmaster since September 2022, violinist Zachary DePue has been appointed concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic.

“We are delighted to announce Zachary DePue’s appointment as Concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic,” said Artis—Naples CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen. “Zach’s artistic prowess, leadership, versatility as a performer and musical curiosity have converged to make him an ideal concertmaster for our orchestra, and we are so pleased to have him in this role.”

“It is an honor to be named to this position with an orchestra that I love being a part of,” said DePue. “It brings me great joy to come to work here every day and to connect with our audiences and community through music. I’m grateful to my colleagues in the orchestra and on the podium for this vote of confidence. Thank you.”

DePue joined the Naples Philharmonic in September 2022, after spending more than a decade as concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO). He was one of the youngest concertmasters in the country when he was appointed to that post in 2007. DePue served that orchestra as a passionate and dedicated leader both in and outside the concert hall, having been named a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, and having connected Indianapolis’ emerging leaders to the issues and needs of the community. He rose to international prominence as a founding member of Time for Three, the category-defying trio with which he performed for 15 years.

DePue graduated in 2002 from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he served as concertmaster of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and studied with renowned violinists Ida Kavafian and Jaime Laredo. He is a former member of The Philadelphia Orchestra, where he performed in the first violin section for five years.
