Davisson Duo signed to D’Addario as Artists

December 22, 2022 | By Grant Communications

American classical guitarists Jack and Elle Davisson, the Davisson Duo, have been signed as Artists to the distinguished D’Addario company, which provides an innovative range of musical accessories for musicians of every genre. Jack and Elle join the ranks of such renowned artists as guitar players Keith Urban, Vince Gill, and Nita Strauss; Silk Road Ensemble cellist Mike Bloc; violinist Lindsey Stirling; bassist Missey Raines; and others.

“We at D’Addario are grateful to welcome Jack and Elle to the D’Addario family of Artists,” stated Andy Pitcher, Director of Artist Marketing. “We as string makers have always done our work with the utmost passion and care for the legacy and future of the instrument, and our technology shows that. The Davisson Duo fit that bill perfectly with their developed understanding of what has been done on the guitar, and a keen ear towards what can be done in the future. They are wonderful ambassadors of our brand, and fully represent our core values, particularly a genuine musical curiosity and passion for learning, and even at their young age.

"They are already finding ways to expand interest in classical guitar through altruism and teaching. D’Addario and myself are forward to seeing where their growing career takes them, and we are fortunate to be their string of choice along for the ride.”

“It’s an honor to be named an Artist for D’Addario,” stated the duo in a joint statement. “We’ve been using their strings and for years. To be included in a list of renowned musicians is exciting and motivates us to play our best.”

21st century musicians Jack and Elle Davisson’s exceptional artistry, skill and lyricism belie the fact that this brother and sister are just teenagers. Since 2017, their thoughtful phrasing, incredible colors, meticulous technique, and expressive playing have earned them a following across the country. Still in high school, the duo is developing a reputation for fusing well-known war horses with modern compositions, creating intriguing programs that present pieces in a fresh, modern way. As the Davisson Duo, Elle and Jack have appeared multiple times on NPR’s From the Top, NPR Music’s Tiny Desk concert series, and have been featured in numerous publications, including Classical Guitar magazine’s Video Pick of the Week and Sunday Prodigy series. Awarded first place at the 2021 Southern Guitar Festival & Competition, Youth Ensemble Division, and second place at both the 2018 and 2019 Guitar Foundation of America International Ensemble Competitions, Youth Division, the duo has recorded with Guitar Salon International and performed on the Omni Foundation of the Arts concert series, amongst others. The duo can next be heard in San Jose, California, March 4, 2023, in a prelude performance for South Bay Guitar Society, and in Delaware March 25, 2023, in concert on the Wilmington Classical Guitar series.

This winter 2023, the Davisson Duo will release two recordings: a single, Petrichor, and their debut album, La Vida Breve, featuring works by Rodrigo, De Falla, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Piazzolla and others on Frameworks / Sapphire Records.
