Pianist Sara Buechner in demand!

Here are a few updates: Sara had an extraordinarily busy 2021 - 22 season reflective of her own cosmopolitan abilities and wide-ranging repertoire.

She appeared as soloist with the orchestras of Toledo, Elgin, Charlotte, Greenwich, Pensacola, Canton, Dubuque, and Dayton; as well as with the Montreal Chamber Orchestra, Berkshire Symphony, Florida Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic — in repertoire ranging from Mozart and Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann, to Rachmaninoff and Florence Price.
On the heels of her sensational performance of Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto at the Chautauqua Festival under the baton of Tania Miller, she is now getting ready for another busy season with orchestras of Cheyenne, Harrisburg, Laval, Oakland, Nova Scotia, and Edmonton; and with the Niagara Symphony where she will play her second performance of Jared Miller's moving “Shattered Night” Concerto (2021), commissioned by Ms. Buechner, which commemorates the tragedy of the Kristallnacht.

As the most prominent transgender classical musician of our time, Ms. Buechner frequently gives personal appearances and talks, and was a headline speaker of the 2021 “Women in Music” Conference sponsored by the Dallas Symphony. In the spring of 2022 she was the featured entertainer at the New York Japan Society Annual Dinner, where she delivered a standing ovation recital and talk in Japanese and English. This fall she’s an opening speaker at the ELIA Conference on Women in Music, in Helsinki.
Her Mozart lectures for the leading music webinar ToneBase is followed in 2023 by a multi-video piano pedagogy series revealing the practice techniques of legendary pianists Busoni, Godowsky, Lhevinne et al, entitled “The ToneBase School of Virtuosity.”

And Ms. Buechner’s new autobiographical theater show “Of Pigs and Pianos” premiered to a sensational New York Times review in December 2021. Bookings are now being placed for 2022 - 23 - 24 and beyond.
With a repertoire of some 120 Piano Concertos; public speaking ability in English, French and Japanese; and an increasing worldwide presence as a phenomenal civil rights advocate of our age, pianist Sara Davis Buechner will galvanize your series and your season.
