Reflection of Freedom: JFK Premieres on YouTube
As part of "Three Reflections for Piano and Orchestra", May 29 celebrated the birthday of John Fitzgerald Kennedy with the release of a new composition for piano and orchestra, based on the piano solo version of "Reflection of Freedom: An Ode to John Fitzgerald Kennedy" by pianist Jeffrey Biegel. For each reflection, Mr. Biegel creates themes based on a musical alphabet he created from A-Z with the names of each person he dedicates each reflection to.
Reflection of Freedom: An Ode to John Fitzgerald Kennedy (with adaptation of 'America the Beautiful')
Reflection of Justice: An Ode to Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Reflection of Equality: An Ode to Martin Luther King (with adaptation of 'Amazing Grace')
For each reflection, his former pupil at the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College, Harrison Sheckler, created the orchestrations to weave around the original solo piano composition. For 'Freedom' and 'Equality', his current pupil, Zhi Chen, expertly created audio demos using music samples from Logic Pro.
