Nashua, NH - The "Symphonic Sound of the Granite State" celebrates its upcoming 100th anniversary over the coming two seasons, beginning with 2022-23, and has many exciting plans in the works.

Before the celebrating begins, the orchestra has put into place dynamic new leadership on the management side and has announced Deanna Hoying as the new Executive Director.

“It’s an honor to step into this role and contribute to the next chapter of Symphony NH's storied history," said Ms. Hoying. “I look forward to working with stakeholders throughout New Hampshire and beyond to expand the orchestra's reach, partnering with new and former collaborators, and connecting the orchestra more strongly to communities throughout the Granite State, while maintaining the high musical standards developed over the decades."

Ms. Hoying has served as Interim Executive Director since August 2021, when her predecessor left for a new position in the Midwest and has been active in the plans for the Centennial.

An arts administrator with over 30 years of experience in arts education. Deanna R. Hoying joined SNH in 2019 as their grant writer, and quickly became their Development Manager.

Prior to joining Symphony NH, Ms. Hoying served a four-year term as Director of Education and Community Engagement for the Louisville Orchestra (LO). During her tenure at LO, she modernized the education curriculum and programming as well as created new community partnerships. She also served as project director of an arts integration program for several local middle schools. Previously, Ms. Hoying worked as Director of Education with several American opera companies, including Cincinnati, Arizona and Kentucky where she created curriculum / touring programs for schools, adult enrichment programs and built thriving young artist programs.

An experienced educator, Ms. Hoying taught K-12 general, vocal and instrumental music at schools in Philadelphia, PA and Tucson, AZ prior to joining the non-profit arts world. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music in French horn performance and a teaching certificate for work in music education from Temple University in Philadelphia, where she also did graduate work. Ms. Hoying currently lives with her family in Manchester, New Hampshire.
