The Hilton Head International Piano Competition Announces 2022 Competitors
Hilton Head Island, SC: The Hilton Head International Piano Competition (HHIPC) announces the selection of 20 competitors for the 2022 competition to be held on March 7 -14. This elite group of international pianists, ages 18-30, was selected from 165 applicants form 28 countries. The competitors and home country are:
Alexander Agate ( United States), Elzbieta Bilicka (Poland), Ji-Hyang Gwak (South Korea), Sahun (Sam) Hong (United States), Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (Canada), Youlan Ji (China), Dimtrii Kalashnikov (Russia), Elizaveta Kliuchereva (Russia), Xiaoxuan Li (China), Yuzhang Li (China), Jonathan Mamora (United States), Songwoo Moon (South Korea), Nan Ni (China), Illia Ovcharenko (Ukraine), Anthony Ratinov (United States), Quanlin Wang (China), Yinuo Wang (China), Quanzhou Yang (China), William Yang (United States) & Muzi Zhao (China)
Competition Director Mona Huff, says "we are extremely proud to present this amazingly talented group of musicians and audiences won't want to miss their performances." The competition will be live-streamed for viewing by piano fans everywhere. The stream can be viewed at www.hhipc.org
The pianists will perform two preliminary rounds at St. Luke's Church on March 7 - 10 and six pianists will advance to the semi-final round at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 12. The Concerto Finals will feature three finalists performing a complete concerto with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Morris Russell on Monday, March 14 at First Presbyterian Church.
