Ascona Music Festival

After the exhilarating start with the world premiere of piano music by Beethoven, pieces never played, from sketches found in Beethoven’s notebooks, and still available on the TicketCo UK platform:

the Ascona Music Festival, ‘Daniel Levy celebrates Beethoven’ online, continues with its second recital by the renowned pianist Daniel Levy:  Bagatelles and Adagios. on October 7 online.

A selection of beautiful but little-performed Bagatelles, some without opus numbers and some of opus 119 and opus 126. These appear as flashes of light and poetry with moments imbued with energetic and graceful rhythms. Also included are some Adagios from the Piano Sonatas, making the whole a rich fresco of Beethoven’s inventiveness.

A wonderful highlight is the unmissable Adagio sostenuto “Clair de Lune” from Sonata no. 14 interpreted by Levy.
