Brian Swanson Joins Northstar Artists

Brian Swanson, a self described “lifer” in the music business started his career in Minneapolis in the mid 80’s with BMG and Capitol / EMI prior to his jump to the live side as the original talent buyer for Prince’s nightclub, Glam Slam. His first agent position was with Kevin Daly at Proton Productions prior to founding his own agency, Hello! Booking. In February of 2000 Swanson moved West and joined the esteemed Monterey Peninsula Artists agency.  After six years at MPA he joined his mentor, Paul Goldman, at Monterey International and helmed their performing arts department for thirteen years before Paradigm Talent Agency bought Monterey International. Swanson left Paradigm soon after they absorbed MI for a short but pleasurable stop at Boulder’s own Madison House.

Swanson now joins his old mates, including Kevin Daly, at Northstar Artists.  Swanson’s entire roster will be following him to Northstar, including Smash Mouth, Spin Doctors, Alan Doyle, Jesse Cook, Classic Albums Live, David Broza, Chris Barron, Lankum, Mike Dawes, Michael Kaeshammer, Nefesh Mountain, Matt Andersen and, on the comedy side, Trailer Park Boys, Bruce McCulloch (of Kids in the Hall) and Chris Fairbanks. 

Swanson had this to say about his latest move.  “Every time I have made a move I hope it’s the place from which I will eventually retire, though retirement is a long way off. I’ve known everyone at Northstar from ten to over thirty years. Kevin Daly, John Lochen, Jen Chabot, Rachel Simon, Diane Daly - these are my people and I couldn’t be happier joining such a hard working and dedicated group."

Daly simply says - “Thirty year relationships don’t grow on trees and I don’t take them for granted.  Brian is one of my favorite people on the planet and I am honored, humbled and excited to be working with him again”.
