Beniamino Gigli, 100 YEARS at the Met, with scenes from Boito's Mefistofele
Teatro Grattacielo and Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy are happy to announce their very first all-digital 2020 production: BENIAMINO GIGLI, 100 YEARS at the Met, with scenes from Boito's Mefistofele.
STREAMING ON:
Since 1997 Teatro Grattacielo has been promoting the works of the operatic repertoire which is rarely performed in the US. Now under a new direction, Teatro Grattacielo is enchancing its mission to bring new prospectives to those operas. We believe in technology driven promotion and perfrormance, in theater of on-line, with an eye on filmography, innovation and multi-media arts.
Our very first 2020 production, entirely produced during Covid-19 related lockdown has been a labor of love. We filmed it at the Blue Builiding in NYC. This semi-documentary is a dedication to Beniamino Gigli. November 26th marks the 100th Anniversary of his Met debut in the role of Faust in Boito's Mefistofele.
We are looking forward to be celebrating with you the great tenor.
Teatro Grattacielo has also just finished filming Umberto Giordano's Fedora that will be streaming at the end of November 2020
