Music Teaching Certification in Florida
The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami is pleased to announce it is offering a new Master of Teaching Degree (M.A.T.) in Music Education.
This accelerated degree program is designed for individuals who hold a prior music degree (outside of music education) and provides them with a plan of study to pursue a Florida K-12 music teaching certification. In the program, students complete all course content as required. Following graduation, alumni can then apply for a Temporary Certificate and seek a teaching position in a Florida school through the State of Florida. After completing one year of supervised teaching completing a Professional Development Certification Program, and passing certification examinations, individuals can apply to the Florida Department of Education for certification. Job placement has been consistently strong for graduates seeking positions in schools.
