Composers Kenny Wood and Igor Nemirovsky Score Grab Games’ New Title 'Amoeba Battle'

March 4, 2020 | By Jordan von Netzer, Impact24 PR

Composers Kenny Wood and Igor Nemirovsky have scored Grab Games’ latest title, Amoeba Battle, which was just released this week. The strategy game is now available on PS4, Switch, Xbox One and Steam (PC, Mac, Linux). Wood and Nemirovsky have collaborated on other notable projects such as Intrinsic Games’ Divergent Shift for Nintendo DS in 2009, which later went on to win an IGF award at Game Developers Conference. Some of Nemirovsky’s other titles include Disney & Tencents’ Zootopia: People Dreaming, Gravity Interactive’s Ragnarok Online and NExT Studios’ Spiral Storm. Wood’s recent work includes arranging and producing additional music for many of Brian Tyler’s latest scores including Rambo: Last Blood and the upcoming Fast9.

When discussing his work on the game Wood says, “Amoeba Battle was an absolute thrill to be a part of. It’s as fun to play as it was to work on. Best of all, Keith Co’s untamed imagination enabled us to be as imaginative as we wanted and I believe it shows in the music and sound. I couldn’t be more fortunate than to work with Grab Games. They have some of the best developers, engineers, and artists in the world and I have the utmost respect and admiration for them. It’s really cool to know when I bring my stuff to the table, I’m sitting there with folks who are at the top of their craft. It inspires me to work harder.” Nemirovsky goes on to add, “It was a lot of fun working on the score to Amoeba Battle. It was a project for which I was given practically unfettered freedom in creating soundscapes for the different worlds inhabited by the player. And the team was amazing; the folks at Grab Games are an awesome bunch, and have poured their hearts and imaginations into making an RTS that at once captivates and draws you in. And it was an honor being a part of it."

The official description for Amoeba Battle reads: How does one amoeba defeat one thousand? Take control of a sole surviving amoeba and guide it in doing what amoebas do best - Feed to gain strength, Multiply to gain numbers, and Evolve to gain power. Turn your single-celled survivor into an amoeba army and take back the microscopic world!
