November 26, 2019, THE PASS by Denise Marsa Has New York Debut--One Night Only!
NEW YORK – Friday, November 22, 2019 – “Realistically, no matter how talented or good you are, so many factors need to be in place if you are to succeed as a recording artist,” states Julia de Peyer, performance coach, after attending last year’s critically acclaimed premiere of THE PASS at London’s Playground Theatre. This statement is confirmed by Denise Marsa’s performance piece consisting of 18 real-life vignettes intertwined with her original songs, in which Marsa conveys over four decades of the many eye-opening, jaw-dropping experiences that she has come to define as her career.
“After being asked dozens of times why I wasn’t a household name, I decided to share my stories, as to what happens when the stars don’t line up, no matter how hard you work or talented you are. We have all seen the shows about the talent that makes it, as we follow some celebrity’s rise to fame and fortune; however, we rarely hear much about the artists that don’t get to where they dream of going. Most times those artists give up after ten to twenty years…and then there’s me,” declares Denise.
Juggling self-expression with running a boutique PR and production company, KeyMedia Public Relations, Marsa wrote THE PASS for two years before bringing it to a London stage, where she revealed herself in full glory. Showcasing defining moments in her life and career, THE PASS balances the serious with the humorous and aims to both entertain and inspire. To polish THE PASS for presentation Marsa worked with playwright, lyricist and actress Gretchen Cryer. The moral of the show be who you are and do what you love, no matter what.
About Denise Marsa: Marsa’s career kicked off as the mystery voice on the top ten UK hit, Lucky Stars, a duet she performed with Dean Friedman for which she was awarded a platinum record. Marsa has lived and been under contract as a songwriter with Warner Bros. in London and Warner/Chappell in Los Angeles. Her song catalog is currently being administered by BMG. She has performed both solo and with a band in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and London, and has appeared on several TV shows and talk shows in the UK. Marsa has released two solo albums, SELF and LIVE FOREVER on her own label KeyMedia Music Group.
