The New York Pops Announces Board Expansion

Andrea Reiser and Rachael Sherman Appointed to Board of Directors

New York, NY, May 30, 2019 — The New York Pops announces the appointment of Andrea R. Reiser, author, and Rachael Sherman, Global Business Manager at Microsoft, to its Board of Directors.

“We are very happy to have Rachael Sherman and Andrea Reiser join us as our two newest members of the Board of Directors at The New York Pops,” said Chairman James A. Read. “I know their talents and expertise will add great value to our group of committed individuals who help The New York Pops attain the highest artistic and educational standards in the field.” 

The New York Pops is also pleased to welcome Jamie Moses to its staff as Assistant Director of Development, in addition to appointing Kaitlin Cockerham as External Affairs Associate. 

Expansion of The New York Pops’ Board of Directors
Rachael Sherman joined The New York Pops Board of Directors in April 2019. She is a Global Business Manager at Microsoft where she leads digital transformation, representing Banking & Capital Markets. Over her career she has led transformative technology projects, as well as sales and consultative strategy. Prior to joining Microsoft, she spent 12 years at Dell SecureWorks where she focused on cyber risk management and security operations. Rachael holds a BS in Management Science & Information Systems from the University of Rhode Island, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a member of the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2). She pays it forward through the Global Give Back Circle, mentoring an at-risk young woman in Kenya to complete her educational journey and transition into the workplace. Rachael resides outside New York City with her husband and two children. She enjoys time with her family, getting outdoors as much as possible, reading, and giving back through philanthropic pursuits. 

Andrea R. Reiser joined The New York Pops Board of Directors in February 2019. She is an author, happiness coach, and theatrical investor. Her most recent published work, The Happy Book (PickleStar Press, 2018), is a collection of 50 uplifting quotes celebrating positivity, gratitude and kindness. Previous books include Letters From Home (Wiley, 2010) andWealthBuilding (Wiley, 2000). A longtime Huffington Post contributor, Reiser has been featured in print and broadcast media for her advice on grateful family living. Reiser is the president of PickleStar, LLC, through which she supports funding for Broadway and Off-Broadway musical productions, including Hadestown. A graduate of Boston University, Reiser lives in New York City and Narragansett, Rhode Island. 

About The New York Pops Staff Members
Assistant Director of Development Jamie Moses was raised in Tampa, Florida and moved to the West Coast to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Music at Portland State University with a concentration in classical piano and minors in Film Studies and Music Production. In 2015, she earned her MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University, during which she conducted practicums in external affairs at Seattle Theatre Group and Seattle Repertory Theatre. Her previous positions include Production and Operations Manager at Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree and most recently Development Manager at Seattle Theatre Group, where she elevated their donor stewardship, special events, and operations. Jamie joined The New York Pops in March 2019 and works with Director of Development Carolyn Bolt to execute the annual gala and lead fundraising initiatives. 

External Affairs Associate Kaitlin Cockerham graduated from Brooklyn College, City University of New York in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History. She was a Jeannette K. Watson Fellow as an Education Intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy, and completed a Masters of the History and Philosophy of Art in Paris at University of Kent, Paris Centre. Kaitlin joined The New York Pops in March of 2018 as an Arts Administration Fellow funded through the New York State Council on the Arts.
