JACK Quartet Announces 2019 Summer Tour Dates

JACK kicks of the summer season at the Ojai Festival June 3–9, including a performance with Music Director Barbara Hannigan

JACK returns to New Music On The Point June 10–18 and The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity July 14–30 to work with young performers and composers

In August and September, JACK tours to Montana, New York City, Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland

 

For immediate release -  The JACK Quartet is excited to announce their 2019 summer season, which kicks off with a return to Ojai Music Festival June 3–9 where they will perform a variety of works, including Schoenberg's Second String Quartet with Music Director Barbara Hannigan as soloist.

JACK then goes to New Music On The Point June 10–18 and The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity July 14–30 to work with young performers and composers. 

In August and September, JACK will go to Tippet Rise Art Center to perform works by John Luther Adams, including a world premiere of his Lines Made by Walking, (String Quartet No. 5), before heading to New York City, where they will play Chaya Czernowin's Hidden as part of the TIME: SPANS Festival. JACK then goes to Europe to coach young composers and premiere their works at the Lucerne Festival and performs as part of a special 80th birthday celebration for Heinz Holliger. They will also perform works by Hindemith, Aigerim Seilova, and 2019 Hindemith Prize-winner Clara Iannotta at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival on August 26.

JACK finishes off their summer season on tour with with Jonathan Nott and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie September 12–17 to cities in Belgium and Germany where they will perform Helmut Lachenmann's Tanzsuite mit Deutschlandlied for string quartet and orchestra.
