Relâche Ensemble and Almanac Dance Circus Theatre Present “The Spotted Lanternfly”
Philadelphia, PA - Relâche Ensemble and Almanac Dance Circus Theatre present The Spotted Lanternfly, a new musical work by Philadelphia composer Erica Ball, featuring the inventive acrobatics of Almanac. The Spotted Lanternfly examines themes of ecological destruction and natural beauty through a child’s eye. Evocative music played by the masterful Relâche Ensemble, combines with dancing, tumbling, and acrobatics to tell the tale of the threat of the spotted lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula, to Southeastern Pennsylvania ecosystems and agriculture. Also on this concert of environmentally themed works: a new piece by composer Michael Stambaugh, and Pauline Oliveros’ Rock Piece. Performances are April 27 at Tyler Arboretum and April 28 at Morris Arboretum; both are free with the cost of admission.
