High Tides is the second album by  Constance Hauman. Her critically acclaimed recording, Falling Into Now, made The Guardian’s list of the 10 Best Albums of 2015. High Tides features eight new songs written by Hauman and two covers, Everlong by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Les Chemins de l’Amour by French composer, Francis Poulenc. High Tides was produced by Constance Hauman and Ross Pederson - who was also the recording and mix engineer and performs throughout the album on drums, bass and midi.

Ms. Hauman also acts as music director, keyboardist and producer for the soul, rock, funk band Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf, currently on a worldwide tour as the opening act for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelics. 

From pulsing pop anthems (Run Sister, Mystic Vision), to doleful and uplifting love ballads (Lonely Xmas, Painful Strangers, Waiting For You, Everlong), High Tides presents two dynamically-charged worlds; the turbulent internal world of human emotions and the majestic awe-inspiring natural world and cosmos both of which uncannily and magically respond to the romantic situations and passionate feelings of the singer.

American singer, pianist, songwriter, lyricist and producer, Constance Hauman is recognized in both the worlds of indie rock and classical music. A favorite of Leonard Bernstein, Hauman has sung over 2,000 performances of opera and hundreds of concerts with a wide array of international companies including, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera National de Paris, Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, London Symphony and London Philharmonia. She wrote, directed and starred in the one-woman show, Exiles in Paradise which caused a sensation at the 92nd Street Y in New York, Schoenberg Hall in Los Angeles and at the Jewish Museum in Berlin.  The Wall Street Journal wrote:  "Constance Hauman a lustrous coloratura soprano of wide-ranging tastes and versatility, made headlines on music pages all over Europe as the waif/sex-goddess in Alban Berg's Lulu. INTERESTING FACTS:

A native of Chicago and Northwestern graduate, Constance Hauman is the only singer to have performed the roles of Olympia, Zerbinetta and Ariel 'en pointe' ie. in and on toe shoes, using her years as training in ballet and dance.  She turned the role of Yvonne the French maid in Ernst Krenek'sJonny Spielt auf into Yvonne the tap dancing maid; the role of Amor in Cavalli's Giasone, she roller bladed down the aisles and famously sang a duet while hula hooping; Constance was the first singer to be completely nude for over 30 mins on stage in the title role of Lulu in the epic production of LULU at the Queen of Denmark's Castle in 1996.  After replacing June Anderson in Candide with 24 hours notice (conducted by Leonard Bernstein), she became renowned for replacing ailing singers without rehearsal.  On the opening night of the New Orleans Opera, she was flown from Toronto where she was performing Don Giovanni, to open the New Orleans season in the title role of Lucia of Lucia di Lammermoor, for a soprano suddenly fallen ill.  She famously arrived in New Orleans at 6pm for a 7:30 curtain, was held in traffic on the way to the opera house, was pinned into the leading ladies costume at 7:15 and was on stage at 7:30. For the fiendishly difficult role of Aminta in Die Schweigsame Frau, she replaced Natalie Dessay, learning the role in less than a week for L'Opera de Marseilles.  She replaced Sumi Jo with the New Japan Symphony in an all French heroine aria progam in Tokyo on 48 hrs notice. She also worked very closely with Northwestern alum Gary Marshall in Los Angeles.

And last but not least, for the infamous porn movie clip in David Lynch/Olga Neuwirth's Lost Highway, it is safe to say, Constance is the first and only opera singer to make a porn film for the sake of a production's integrity.
