Shlomo Mintz releases Ysaye Sonatas CD

Universal Music Italia's classical and jazz division released on March 1st a new recording series of Maestro Shlomo Mintz. The first project is the famous Sonatas of Ysay¨e for solo violin, op. 27.

"There are many fine recordings of the complete Ysay¨e sonatas for solo violin. My version is simply an attempt to share a personal interpretation prompted by and reflecting Ysay¨e’s own notion of “for all humanity”. By and large, I have followed the standard editions, but I also looked at the so-called original editions, and this having influenced some of my decisions, I consider my versio´n to reflect a “best of all” approach» Shlomo Mintz
