Phoenix Symphony Board, Staff Musicians Meet

November 2, 2026 | By David Leibowitz
Phoenix Symphony

RELEASE JOINT STATEMENT; PARTICIPANTS "ENCOURAGED BY THE PROGRESS MADE"

Representatives of the Phoenix Symphony’s Board of Directors, Staff, and Local 586, American Federation of Musicians met today for a respectful, constructive conversation about the Symphony’s future. All participants left the meeting encouraged by the progress made toward our shared goal of returning the orchestra to the stage.

The central items discussed included the meaningful fundraising progress made over the past week and a plan to resume performances, possibly as soon as this month. We also agreed that the Symphony Musicians, Board, and Staff will collaborate on fundraising to support the Symphony.

We appreciate the spirit of cooperation reflected in today’s critical discussion. Continued dialogue and community support will be essential as we work together to bring live symphonic music back to our audiences and community.
