Sphinx Organization Announces 30th Anniversary Signature Events in New York, Detroit, and Washington, DC

The Sphinx Organization has announced three signature events celebrating its 30th Anniversary season, marking three decades of transforming lives through the power of the arts.

The anniversary season, titled “Legacy Forward,” will bring together artists, audiences, alumni, supporters, and arts leaders in New York, Detroit, and Washington, DC throughout the 2026–2027 season.

Sphinx Virtuosi at Carnegie Hall

New York City

Sphinx Virtuosi returns to Carnegie Hall for an evening of music and celebration at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The evening begins with a pre-concert gala at The Russian Tea Room honoring acclaimed actor and cultural icon Delroy Lindo for his extraordinary contributions to storytelling and the arts. The celebration continues with a performance by Sphinx Virtuosi on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

SphinxConnect and Sphinx Competition: Legacy Forward

SphinxConnect and the Sphinx Competition will unite for three days of performances, conversations, networking, and artistic celebration in Detroit.

The Opening Plenary on January 21 will feature the first live announcement of the Sphinx Medals of Excellence recipients. The season culminates on January 23 with the Sphinx Competition Finals Concert, celebrating the next generation of exceptional classical musicians.

An Intimate Evening of Excellence

As the capstone event of the anniversary season, Sphinx will host a private gathering honoring visionary artists and leaders advancing the future of the arts. During the evening, the Sphinx Medals of Excellence, the organization’s highest honor, will be presented to distinguished changemakers shaping the cultural landscape. 

This exclusive evening will bring together a distinguished community of artists, supporters, and leaders for a celebration of excellence at the highest level. Space is extremely limited, and additional details will be shared directly with invited guests.
