Alain Lanceron Presented with the IAMA Award.

The IAMA Award was created in 2000 to recognise outstanding individuals in the classical music world who have made a notable contribution. This year’s award went to a veteran record industry executive who has led major labels for many years.

Alain Lanceron was recently named Chairman Emeritus of Warner Classics and Erato, capping a five decades-long career at EMI Classics, Virgin Classics, Warner Classics and Erato, concluding with over a decade running the classical division of Warner Music Group.

“He is one of the last of the great classical label executives – fiercely loyal to his artists, creative and imaginative when developing projects and with a genuine passion for his work. He’s the person you want to find in a record label, the person who protects its soul and integrity.”

The award was given at the closing party on 16 April 2027 concluding the 35th IAMA International Conference held in Tallinn, Estonia.
