(Palm Beach, FL) – The Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (CMSPB) will present Double Forte: Two Pianos, a performance of virtuosic four-hand works on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts (701 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401) at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available at www.cmspb.org.
This April, acclaimed pianists Wu Qian and Juho Pohjonen unite for a dazzling program that spans centuries and styles. Both, celebrated performers around the globe, have established themselves as premier interpreters of the classical canon. Wu Qian, an alumnus of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School and a founding member of the Sitkovetsky Trio, has appeared at major venues including Wigmore Hall and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. She is joined by Finnish pianist Juho Pohjonen, who has been a featured solo performer with the BBC Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and more.
The evening’s musical highlights include Bach’s Passacaglia in C minor and Mozart’s Fugue in C minor, which showcase the brilliance of classical counterpoint. The program then moves into the vibrant energy of Gershwin’s An American in Paris, pulsing with orchestral color reimagined for the keyboard. The performance culminates with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, a work of sweeping intensity often referred to as his magnum opus, serving as a spectacular finale for this "Double Forte" showcase.

ABOUT CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY OF PALM BEACH
The Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (CMSPB) brings sublime chamber music to the heart of Palm Beach County, enthralling audiences with performances that both captivate and educate. Our legacy, built since 2013, includes over 150 remarkable artists gracing our stages—from the eminent Emerson String Quartet to the virtuosity of acclaimed violinists James Ehnes and Pinchas Zuckerman, and pianists Anne-Marie McDermott and Inon Barnatan, alongside esteemed colleagues from across the international classical music scene.
CMSPB’s educational endeavors are at the forefront of the organization, reaching nearly 2,000 students and young musicians each season. Through masterclasses, in-school performances and open rehearsals, CMSPB aims to kindle the flame of creativity in young minds, cultivating the artists and audiences of tomorrow.
In recent years, CMSPB has launched the Boscobel Chamber Music Festival in partnership with the Boscobel House and Gardens, a historic house museum located at a scenic site on the Hudson River, just an hour north of New York City. The festival focuses on community and educational outreach, providing open rehearsals and lectures that have reached over 2,000 audience members since 2022.
In January of 2025 and under the direction of violinist and CMSPB Artistic Director Arnaud Sussmann and cellist Edward Arron, CMSPB launched the inaugural year of Rising Artists, an initiative bringing together four extraordinary young string players to Palm Beach for an immersive week of collaboration, mentorship, and performance. Now entering its second season, the Rising Artists program continues to nurture and promote young talents through an immersive week of rehearsals and performances, while engaging with the Palm Beach community through a multitude of outreach events. Alumni of the Rising Artists program continue to enjoy performance opportunities in Palm Beach throughout the season, as well as in our partner site at Boscobel House and Gardens.
Today, the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach continues to be a leader in musical artistry and educational impact, connecting people across our community with the transformative power of chamber music.
