Expressivities of Beethoven’s Slow Movements

November 23, 2020 | By Miguel Tarrosa
Assistant Manager

Multi-awarded and internationally-acclaimed classical pianist, music director, and educator Susan Merdinger explores Ludwig van Beethoven’s expressive slow movements this Tuesday, November 24 at 2 PM Central Time at Merdinger's Musings: Slow Movements by Beethoven.

Susan Merdinger at Carnegie Hall

Susan is a distinguished musician with a career spanning almost four decades now. She is an alumna of Yale University, the Yale School of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music. Some of her awards include being a two-time Gold Medalist at the Global Music Awards, First Prize at the International Music Competition of France in 2013, Honored Artist of The American Prize in 2019, First Prizes in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competitions for Solo and Duo, and Winner of Artists International in New York.

Commanding standing ovations from her emotionally charged and spiritually uplifting performances in major concert halls around the world, she has been hailed as "exhilarating" by the Scotland Herald, while the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung declared her playing was "breathtaking, daring, and enormously joyous.” Critics are unanimous in their descriptions of Susan's ?re, passion, thought-provoking interpretations, and astonishing technique that goes beyond the mere playing of  notes on a page; every work she presents with a masterful sound and style, reminiscent of the  "Golden Era of Pianists.”

With Susan’s riveting stage presence and decades of experience, this virtual concert is a must watch performance that’ll surely immerse you in the nuances of Beethoven and Merdinger’s musicalities intertwined.
