The Canticum Novum Singers Presents a Canticum Novum Christmas on December 15 at Advent Lutheran Church in New York, New York

December 13, 2018

The Canticum Novum Singers, Harold Rosenbaum, Conductor and Artistic Director, will present its Canticum Novum Christmas concert on Saturday, December 15 at 8:00 PM, with James Adams, organ and The Canticum Novum Youth Choir, Edie Rosenbaum, Director at Advent Lutheran Church, 93rd St. and Broadway in Manhattan.

This will be a program of Holiday choral music from across the centuries, including “Nova Nova” (Medieval Carol); “Lo How a Rose” by Praetorius, Brahms, Distler, Rosenbaum and Sandström: Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (selections): Britten’s Missa Brevis, along with “White Christmas”, “Silver Bells”, “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” and other holiday favorites.

Called “an elite chorus” by The New York Times, The Canticum Novum Singers is now in its 46th season under the direction of its founder, Harold Rosenbaum. The choir has achieved both national and international recognition for its stylistic versatility, vocal blend, and expressive range. Bach, Fauré, and Bruckner, to Harbison, Berio, Schnittke, Rorem, Schickele and George Benjamin.
