Reimagining the Waltz with the new music release by Uriel Pascucci

April 29, 2024 | By Zeitlos Sounds

A revival of the Waltz genre in classical music with a modern approach. The new composition WALTZ PORTRAIT OF ANA MARIA by pianist and composer Uriel Pascucci is a chamber music piece which often sounds like a full Orchestra. This composition fulfills the traditionally supply dancing purpose of the genre, even though it also shifts into other means of expression.

Just like a painter would do on a canvas, Uriel Pascucci has made a music portrait of his grandmother. Instead of oil he used sound. It is particularly pleasing to observe that the main rhythmical structure of this piece is inspired by Tchaikovsky’s 2nd movement of the Symphony Nr. 6, creating a “limping” Waltz.

The instrumentation and music showcase the personality of Uriel Pascucci's grandmother: her joy, her gentleness, even her fears. The Pipe Organ symbolizes Religion. A middle section with only the String Quintet reflects her hopes. The Bells are her radiant life values.
