FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Keep your HOPE alive! Tune in Livestream or In Person to find out how the Power of Music kept a city's hopes alive during the siege of Leningrad. Hear the gripping account of the writing and performance of Shostakovich’s brilliant and moving Seventh Symphony.

New York Times author and winner of the National Book Award, M. T. Anderson presents the riveting account of the Seventh Symphony of Dmitri Shostakovich, written during the siege of Leningrad in WWII -  A powerful story of Hope in Tempestuous Times.

There is nothing like the power of Music to keep Hope alive when it is waning. Anderson recounts the amazing story of Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich, who was trapped inside Leningrad at the of siege World War II, and wrote his Seventh Symphony as an act of defiance while serving as a roof-top fireman watching for incendiary bombs.  Incredibly, it was performed by a starving orchestra within the city, bringing hope, lifting spirits, and sparking the desire to live and thrive again to a desperate city in desperate times.
