Canadian Pianist and Composer, Tim Nast, showcases new singles weekly, beginning August 12, ahead of his album release on October 4

Tim Nast announces Fall tour dates starting October 4 across the Ottawa Valley

Toronto, ON (August 13, 2019) - Accomplished pianist and composer, Tim Nast, is set to release his new album on October 4. Tim will be showcasing eight singles from his new album “Here” on social media (one single per week) beginning August 12. This campaign is set to give audiences an insight into the melodic tunes found on his album. Tim will also be hitting the road on October 4 to November 16 for his Fall tour across the Ottawa Valley.

Pre-order the album here.

With his album design including an original ancient cave oil painting, the album “Here” focuses on acknowledging our time and life on planet Earth. Comprised of 12 original solo piano songs, the album celebrates the simple fact that we are here – on this planet, in our bodies, in this moment. Passengers, a song found on the album, tells a story of how we are all passengers on this planet as we move through our lives and through space. The album and song acknowledge our busy lifestyle and how we need to step back and savour life’s journey.

Growing up on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Tim’s musical styling was honed through his classical and jazz influencers and the tranquil setting found along the west coast. Tim defines his musical stylings as “freestyle piano,” encompassing the sounds of classical, folk and jazz music. Tim wants to take his listeners on a melodic journey through a musical landscape by evoking a feeling of escaping the busy lives individuals lead.

“Music is the conductor on the melodic journey through this album,” said Tim Nast. “It is the vehicle people use when looking for meaning in their life.”

Tim’s Fall tour will be an intimate performance creating a bubble of time for his audience. Tim wants individuals to leave the show feeling self-aware and in the moment. Aside from performing his songs, Tim will be doing his form of improvisation for the audience. He will end each show by composing a new song with the audience present, as a way to connect with them and build raw and authentic material. After every show the song will be uploaded to his website and Tim will give the audience free access to the song they created together.

The weekly pre-release of 8 singles beginning August 12 will be highlighted through Tim’s social media pages to build momentum for his new album, and engage with his audience on this musical journey. A gifted pianist and composer with a natural affinity for the audience, Tim Nast looks forward to sharing his music with people around the world, and connecting with them in an authentic way.

About Tim Nast

Tim Nast is a Canadian pianist and composer with a rare talent for melody and improvisation. Tim Nast grew up on Vancouver Island, just outside Victoria, BC. This tranquil setting played a key role in defining his musical style, which he refers to as freestyle piano - a mix of classical, jazz, folk and improv - with the bending of rules as required.

Frequently compared to Keith Jarrett and George Winston, Tim Nast’s music offers rich melodic landscapes which allow listeners to escape their lives and enter the world he creates – a world of harmony and rhythm. During his 20s, Tim Nast recorded 6 albums and performed across Canada and Germany, sometimes to standing room only. When he became a father, he stepped back from his music career and entered the corporate world.

Fast forward to the present and Tim Nast is back! He’s retired from the corporate career and has returned to his musical passion of composition and performance. He is better for the road he has traveled and well-aware that the passage of time has given his music a soulful depth that can only be acquired through living. Currently residing in Ottawa, Ontario, Tim Nast recently completed a new album, Here – 12 original solo piano songs. This new album celebrates the simple fact that we are here – on this planet, in our bodies, in this moment.

Tim will pre-release songs from this album weekly, beginning August 12, 2019, through to his official album release on October 4. He will promote and perform this album through a 12-stop tour taking place October/November in small towns around the Ottawa region. During the Spring of 2020 Tim Nast will perform in Montreal, Toronto and across Ontario. Fall 2020 will find Tim Nast performing in Vancouver and Victoria, and at venues throughout Vancouver Island. timnast.com
