MISSION
PRISMA is fast becoming the classical music festival of choice for professional musicians high quality students and diverse audiences. It features a collaborative environment which nurtures both professional development and community engagement. Mandate: The purposes of PRISMA are a) to advance education by establishing and operating a music academy; b) to educate and advance the knowledge or abilities of students and to increase the public's appreciation of music by providing courses seminars recitals and workshops; and c) to operate an arts festival involving symphonic orchestral opera and classical music performances.
The festival contracted 20 guest artists from renowned orchestras in the United States Canada and Europe. This has bolstered ties with such prestigious international institutions as the Juilliard School and the Peabody Institute. PRISMA has a mutually beneficial partnership with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. These out-of-province connections provide students and guest artists with not only exceptional instruction and experiences but also access to networks that enhance their professional development.
