WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
Our festival is an educational project inviting young talented artists after challenging auditions. They receive full scholarships after acceptance. The Texas Festival Orchestra is made up of the students body. Performances take place in a permanently owned concert hall. Acoustics are said to be peerless.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
This year's performances include Beethoven's Symphony No. 9; the Serenade by Alfred Schnittke; the Harberg Viola Concerto; Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1; Paul Dukas's La Peri; Jacques Ibert's Flute Concerto; Debussy's Rhapsody and La Mer; Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde; Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5; and Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10. Among the featured artists are Nancy Wu and Regis Pasquier (violin); Ransom Wilson and Carol Wincenc (flute); Sasha Cooke (mezzo soprano); William Burden (tenor); and the Texas Festival Orchestra.
