For 11 days in 2014 Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic will play, in every sense of the word. It’s the inaugural NY PHIL BIENNIAL — a kaleidoscopic exploration of today’s music by more than 50 contemporary and modern composers from 12 countries, presented with partners on and off the Lincoln Center campus. Inspired by visual-art biennials, the NY PHIL BIENNIAL will be a place for you to revel, delight, and immerse yourself in the here and now.

Our 2014 NY PHIL BIENNIAL partners are 92nd Street Y, The Museum of Modern Art, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Juilliard School, Gotham Chamber Opera, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Bang on a Can, American Composers Orchestra, and Kaufman Music Center’s Special Music High School.
