New York, NY - The Helsinki Festival’s production of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni will be live streamed by LiveMusicStage (http://www.livemusicstage.com/), premiering on Sunday August 18, with additional performances on Tuesday August 20, Thursday August 22 and Saturday August 24. The times for all performances are 7 pm Helsinki time, 5 pm London time and 12 noon New York time.

In this unprecedented production, the cast of affluent young people at parties are constantly filming themselves and each other. The images and videos they capture using their Nokia PureView phones are an integral part of the performance and the presentation to the audience. By incorporating cutting edge mobile technology into this traditional opera presentation, New Generation Opera provides a uniquely modern twist to a traditional art form.

Performers will be members of the New Generation Opera Ensemble. Don Giovanni will be sung by Waltteri Torikka, with Tapani Plathan, as Leporello, Timo Riihonen as Il Commendatore, Ida Falk Winland as Donna Anna, Joska Lehtinen as Don Ottavio, Anna Danik as Donna Elvira, Nicholas Soerlund, bass as Massetto and Malin Christensson, soprano as Zerlina.

Ville Matvejeff will conduct the Tapiola Sinfonietta. The production director is Erik Soderblom. This Helsinki Festival production (http://www.helsinginjuhlaviikot.fi/) of Mozart’s setting of this immortal tale will be performed in Italian with subtitles in English.

The high-quality stream of the performances and the unique, simultaneous social online experience that LiveMusicStage offers is accessible both on desktop and mobile. The cost is €9.90 euros to watch at http://www.livemusicstage.com/dongiovanni. All major credit cards and PayPal accepted.
