Pianist Polly Ferman and Bandoneonist Daniel Binelli in Concert

Argentinean bandoneonist Daniel Binelli and Uruguayan-American pianist Polly Ferman will be in concert with the Orquesta De Juan De Dios Filiberto on Wednesday, August 18 in San Martin and Friday, August 20 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The August 18 concert will be at Complejo Cultural Teatro Plaza in San Martín, Province of Buenos Aires. The program includes Suite for piano and strings of Gerardo Di Giusto, with Polly Ferman as soloist, Tres movimientos concertantes for bandoneon and orchestra with Daniel Binelli, soloist and tangos with Ferman and Binelli together with the orchestra.

The August 20 – 8 PM performance will feature Ms. Ferman, again performing the Di Giusto Suite, with the Orquesta at Radio Nacional, Maipu 555 in Buenos Aires. The program will also include Daniel Binelli’s composition Metropolis, performed by the Binelli-Ferman Duo with the Orquesta.

Both performances are free and open to the public.

Daniel Binelli is an internationally renowned master of the bandoneon, acclaimed as the foremost exponent and torchbearer of the music of Astor Piazzolla. As a composer, many international orchestras, ensembles, Tango companies and soloists have commissioned and/or performed his works, including the Zurich Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Colorado Music Festival, Montevideo Philharmonic, Colombia Symphony, and Buglisi/Foreman Dance Company as well as Osvaldo Pugliese Orquesta Tipica (Argentina) and Tango 7 (Switzerland). Polly Ferman has been called "musical ambassador of the Americas" by the Japan Times. One of the leading interpreters of the music of the Americas, her extensive tours as a soloist have included performances with the Symphonies of San Francisco, Colorado, Vancouver, and Indianapolis, as well as orchestras in Japan, Ukraine, Philippines, Brazil, in addition to recitals in New York, Tokyo, Washington D.C., London, Munich and Buenos Aires. She has performed in Cuba with the all-female chamber orchestra Camerata Romeu. Her recordings are available on Music Masters, Musical Heritage Society, PAMAR, EPSA Music and Sondor.
