Choral Music of Charles Griffin in Palo Alto and Oakland, California

American composer Charles Griffin’s Rekviem will be performed by the San Francisco Choral Artists as part of their 25th Anniversary concerts on Saturday, June 19- 8 PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 600 Colorado Avenue in Palo Alto and Sunday, June 20 - 4 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 114 Montecito Avenue in Oakland, California. These follow a June 13 presentation of the program at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Mr. Griffin's Rekviem is a setting in Russian of a short but beautiful and moving text by Anna Akhmatova.

The program, 25 x 25, features 25 works by 25 composers, and is directed by Magen Solomon. Other composers include Herb Bielwa, Kirke Mechem, Eleanor Averse, Robin Estrada, Kala Pierson, John Kelley, Jerry Mueller, Peter Hilliard, Russell Burnham, Benjamin Taylor, Paul Crabtree, Tina Harrington, Christopher Marshall, Matthew Van Brink and Henry Mollicone.
