Chambers Players International Presents 2010 Long Island Mozart Festival

The Long Island Mozart Festival will present its 2010 festival and concerts on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 at Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road in Old Westbury, New York. The festival features performances of the music of Mozart and other classical masters by an international array of artists, as well as music lectures, dance programs, fencing demonstrations, activities for young people, Café in the Woods and tours of Old Westbury Gardens.

This year, the Festival is proud to introduce several new elements to this outdoor family event, including a Saturday children's festival produced by Old Westbury Gardens, a May 16 – 12:30 PM Introduction to Classical Music for children with the Kende Trio and a World Premiere on Sunday’s mainstage concert.

The May 15 at 2 PM Mainstage concert will feature Mozart’s String Quartets K.378 and k.465, performed by guest artists, the Voxare String Quartet - Emily Ondracek and Galina Zhdanova, violins, Erik Peterson, viola and Adrian Daurov, cello.

The May 16 at 2:00 PM Mainstage concert will present a Mozart Divertimento, J.S. Bach's Double Violin Concerto, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nacht Muzik and the World Premiere of American composer David Winkler’s Double Violin Concerto (in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Old Westbury Gardens). Performers will be internationally renowned violinists Anna Rabinova, and Dmitri Berlinsky, with the Long Island Mozart Festival Chamber Orchestra, led by Daniel Boico, Assistant Conductor of the New York Philharmonic.

Lawn seating is $10 for general, $8 for seniors (over 62) and children $5 (7-17), and 6 and under are free. Prices include the main stage concert and all ancillary activities for that day.
