Members Get First Chance to Buy 2010–2011 Tickets to CPA Performances
UNIVERSITY PARK (Wednesday, April 21)—Beginning May 10, members of the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State may purchase tickets to 30 music, theater and dance presentations in the 2010–2011 season. Tickets go on sale three weeks later—on June 1—to the general public.
Tickets go on sale May 17 to last-season Center for the Performing Arts Choice series buyers. A patron may create his or her own Choice series and earn a 10-percent discount by purchasing tickets at the same time to at least four presentations.
The upcoming season, which will be announced May 3, features a classical music superstar, touring Broadway blockbusters, jazz piano legends, major American and international dance companies, a two-part drama event, a Celtic Christmas concert, the Penn State debut of the world’s most sought-after piano trio, picture book-inspired shows for children and more. In addition to presenting in its customary venues of Eisenhower and Schwab auditoriums, the Center for the Performing Arts offers its first-ever concert in the exceptional acoustics of Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.
For as little as $50 a year, an individual or family may join the Debut Circle membership category and be first in line to purchase tickets. Debut Circle members also get the season brochure by First-Class mail to ensure early receipt and a recognition listing in the Center for the Performing Arts annual report.
Members who contribute greater amounts enjoy even more benefits, including recognition in OnStage performance programs and the Eisenhower Auditorium lobby, meet-the-artists opportunities, invitations to members-only receptions and other events, VIP ticketing and premium seating access, tickets for friends and preferred or reserved parking. Membership benefits vary by category.
For information about membership, visit www.cpa.psu.edu/join or contact Dave Shaffer, assistant director for special programs, at 814-863-1167 or DaveShaffer@psu.edu.
