Biegel and Rhodes met initially in Springfield, Massachusetts for Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto, as well as Liebermann's Third Concerto following Maestro Rhodes interest to bring his orchestras into consortium projects created by Biegel. Their dynamic pairing has brought them success in several performances, and, they will appear together this weekend in Traverse, MI at Interlochen. Later this year, they join with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in October 2010, where Mr. Rhodes is Music Director finalist. Maestro Rhodes has asked Mr. Biegel to join him with Beethoven's "Piano Concerto no. 5 in E-flat Major, 'Emperor'". Going further in time, they will join forces in the 2011-12 season with William Bolcom's "Prometheus, for Piano, Orchestra and Chorus" with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The SSO is one of nine co-commissioning orchestras in the William Bolcom project for 2010-11-12.
